Each Longitude Dial has a signature-engraved cartouche containing the date and number of the Dial. A dedication, the location address, and type of time shown are all inscribed around the Dial's outer ring.
Further customization is possible by incorporating the date of a special occasion into the design. A line can be inscribed on the map to commemorate a birthday, marriage, or retirement; the bead mounted on the gnomon will cast its shadow along this special line all day on the appointed date.
